The Smart Factory Blueprint Workshop Recap: How to Build a Smart, Sustainable, and Secure Operation
On 29 May 2025, LKH Precicon hosted “The Smart Factory Blueprint: Building Smart, Secure and Sustainable Operations”, a hands-on workshop designed to help manufacturers in Singapore navigate Industry 4.0 and the transition to Industry 5.0.
Held at the Precicon office, the workshop welcomed plant managers, business owners, academics and operations leaders for an engaging afternoon of insightful presentations, live demonstrations, and interactive case studies.
Putting Industry 4.0 and 5.0 into Action
The workshop began with a keynote from our Senior Business Manager, Colin Koh, who delivered a brief overview to Industry 5.0 — a human-centric evolution of manufacturing that blends automation, connectivity, and AI with sustainability and resilience.
Following the keynote, LKH Precicon’s internal specialists walked participants through real-world strategies to enhance operational excellence across three core pillars:
Smart Manufacturing – leveraging automation, IoT, and data-driven insights by Eugenia Yue
Sustainable Operations – improving energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact by Jarrold Lim
Secure Operations – protecting critical OT systems against cyber threats by Oh Wen Hui
Participants also witnessed a live demo of how these principles are applied in smart factory environments, showcasing real tools and solutions offered by LKH Precicon.
Interactive Group Case Studies: Solving Real Challenges
One of the most engaging parts of the session was the group-based case study activity. Attendees were divided into two teams — where they focus on solving real-world operational challenges that factories face today, using SMART, SUSTAINABLE, or SECURE solutions.
With guidance from our facilitators, each team tackled a real-world manufacturing scenario using mock data, role cards, and worksheets. The exercise encouraged collaborative problem-solving and allowed participants to directly apply workshop concepts in a practical, high-impact way.
