ABB was established in Singapore in 1971 and has grown to a staff strength of around 900, with its main office at Ayer Rajah and a service centre in Tuas.

ABB serves the local and regional markets with key products suitable for the industrial automation sectors. Through the years, ABB Singapore has established their foothold as a reliable and competent technology partner to the private, domestic and government sectors. In addition to its market leadership, ABB Singapore hosts global competency centers for pulp and paper, marine, logistics and control systems, and plays an important role as a regional engineering, products and spares distribution center in the development of ABB’s presence in the Asia Pacific region.

In Singapore, ABB is building its local capability for digitalization to ensure it is well-equipped to meet its customers’ increasing need for advanced IoT solutions while staying aligned with the government’s efforts to digitally transform the manufacturing industry. Launched in 2018, ABB’s Customer Innovation Center in Singapore showcases how ABB Ability™, the company’s comprehensive digital offering, can harness the power of digital to drive progress with its customers.

Local Project Commitments

ABB has a presence in several key infrastructures in Singapore, some being more iconic and visible than others:
ABB‘s robust programmable logic controllers (PLC) and energy efficient drives move the roof of Singapore‘s National Stadium

National Stadium

ABB‘s robust programmable logic controllers (PLC) and energy-efficient drives move the roof of Singapore‘s National Stadium, the world’s largest free-spanning dome. ABB‘s reliable products help the 2,200 metric ton retractable roof travel at 40mm per second at a high safety level, even under such a harsh unpredictable tropical climate faced in Singapore.

Over 800 ABB solar inverters power common facilities at 400 public housing flats island-wide with solar energy, supporting the growth of solar energy adoption in Singapore

Housing Development Board

ABB solar inverters are set to power common facilities at public housing flats island-wide with solar energy, supporting the growth of solar energy adoption. As the world is looking at alternative sources of energy to reduce electricity consumption, Singapore is initiating this project with public housing units and this has helped save tons of CO2 per year and achieve the aim of reducing carbon footprint.

ABB is supplying electrification packages, high, medium voltage and low voltage switchgear, transformers and service contracts

Data Centres

ABB has been constantly gaining market share by supplying electrification packages, high, medium voltage and low voltage switchgear, transformers and service contracts to the major players in the control panel industry and panel builders, and helping to ensure energy-efficient and reliable operations for data centre operators.
