Frequently Asked Questions

How and when to callibrate the Aranet4?

Ans: A brand new Aranet4 is factory-calibrated and should be recalibrated once a year, either automatically or manually.

Automatic Calibration: Expose the Aranet4 to fresh air at around 420 ppm for about 8 hours.

Manual Calibration: Place the Aranet4 in fresh air (about 420 ppm CO2) for 30 minutes in a stable environment. Stay at least 1 meter away to avoid interfering with the calibration. To start manual calibration, toggle the switch behind the batteries from MANUAL to AUTO and back to MANUAL within 1 second.

What makes the NDIR sensor preferable over other types of sensors?

Ans: Using a non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) sensor for measuring the CO2 level provides a higher precision than regular electrochemical sensors. This is due to the unique detectability of carbon dioxide without interference from other gases. The Aranet4, which we offer, is an example of a product that uses an NDIR sensor.

How many sensors can the Aranet PRO base station support?

Ans: The Aranet PRO base station supports up to 12, 50, or 100 sensors, depending on the sensor quantity license. Sensor capacity can be upgraded by uploading a license (e.g., from PRO12 to PRO100).

Is it possible to calculate water flow on the HOBO MicroRX Water Level Station?

Ans: Yes, the station is equipped with pre-installed calculations for V-notch weirs, various types of flumes (such as Parshall, Ramp, and Cutthroat), and a stage-discharge table.

How many smart sensor inputs are available on the U30-NRC Weather Station?

Ans: The U30-NRC Weather Station has 10 available smart sensor connectors.
