LKH Precicon Signs Strategic MOU with ITE to Build Singapore’s Advanced Manufacturing Talent

LKH Precicon is proud to announce its participation as a signatory in a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and leading industry stakeholders — a strategic partnership to strengthen Singapore’s talent pipeline in precision and automation engineering.

Advanced Manufacturing in the Age of AI Symposium 2025

The MOU was formalised at the Advanced Manufacturing in the Age of AI Symposium 2025 on 22 May 2025, organised by ITE College Central School of Engineering. The symposium brought together industry leaders, educators, and innovators to explore how technologies like AI, IoT, and cybersecurity are reshaping Singapore’s manufacturing and semiconductor sectors.

Leadership at the Table: CEO Mr. Ong Wee Heng Represents LKH Precicon

Representing LKH Precicon at the MOU signing was Mr. Ong Wee Heng, our Chief Executive Officer. His role as signatory reinforces our ongoing commitment to developing industry-relevant skills and nurturing Singapore’s next generation of manufacturing professionals.

Key Areas of Collaboration in the MOU

Spanning all three ITE colleges, the MOU outlines collaboration in:

  • Co-developing Continuing Education & Training (CET) programmes and certifications

  • Enhancing Work-Study Diplomas and modular upskilling opportunities

  • Hosting joint industry engagement events such as showcases, seminars, and expert panels

  • Fostering knowledge exchange between institutions and industry

LKH Precicon was proud to be part of this forward-looking event. Our Senior Business Manager, Mr. Colin Koh, contributed to the dialogue with a presentation on how digital transformation is unlocking agility, resilience, and innovation on the factory floor.

A key insight from the event reminded us:

“Manufacturing isn’t about low-cost labour anymore — it’s about technology.”

This quote echoed throughout the symposium, reinforcing the need for new skillsets and cross-sector collaboration.

Why This Matters for the Industry

Singapore’s transition toward smart manufacturing is accelerating. This MOU marks a collective step toward ensuring that the workforce evolves in tandem — equipped with the technical skills and adaptive mindsets to meet Industry 4.0 and future challenges.

Through this partnership, LKH Precicon will play an active role in developing a smarter, safer, and more sustainable industrial ecosystem.
