EC&M Magazine has awarded the ABB SACE Tmax XT7 MCCB its 2021 Product of the Year Silver Award. The award highlights one of the top new electrical products across all categories. ABB also won the award for best product in the Protective Devices category. Established in 2001, the EC&M Product of the Year competition recognizes excellence in new product development for the electrical industry. Honoring inventiveness in product design, as well as improvements in safety and efficiency, the competition’s two-fold judging and voting process determines the most ground-breaking products of the past year that allow electrical design professionals, installers, and maintenance personnel to perform their jobs more efficiently and effectively. EC&M is the leading industry trade publication reaching electrical professionals who design, construct, operate and maintain electrical systems. The award will be presented to ABB at the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) Show on October 11, 2021.

The SACE Tmax XT7 is a powerful circuit breaker package capable of monitoring and controlling electricity distribution with UL frame sizes up to 1200 amps and 600 volts. Designed for demanding applications such as data centers, the SACE Tmax XT7 offers electronic trip units that come in a full range of user interfaces, including a feature-packed, full-color touch screen. These trip units can be monitored remotely by smartphone or tablet using the revolutionary new EPiC app or connected to the cloud for further analytics through the ABB Ability™ Energy & Asset Manager software.

“Being recognized by EC&M confirms that ABB is at the forefront of innovation in smart power distribution systems and circuit breaker technology,” said Bill Stewart, Product Marketing Director, ABB Smart Power division. “To best serve our customers, we must continue to develop products like the Tmax XT7 that save time and energy, reduce maintenance costs, and offer holistic solutions that complement our existing Tmax XT and ReliaGear™ product portfolios.”

The Tmax XT7 helps save contractors valuable time, especially when working with easy-to-install ReliaGear™ equipment. It also integrates with an extensive product offering supported by the ABB Ekip™ Connect software or the EPiC app. The free app offers easy and smart product configuration, installation, commissioning, and assistance in one app for the low voltage electrical distribution market.

With real-time load monitoring and 1% power metering accuracy, end users can save energy and gain reliable insights by utilizing advanced protections for voltage, frequency, and power monitoring. In addition, digital upgrades that enable remote access, monitoring and control help minimize downtime and ultimately facilitate cost reduction.
